Description
Immaculate Conception in Terracotta
The Immaculate Conception (a Catholic dogma, proclaimed by Pope Pius IX on December 8, 1854, which establishes that the Virgin Mary was preserved free from Original Sin) in terracotta is a handcrafted item according to the Tuscan tradition.
It is made with clay resistant to low temperatures: up to -15° C. It is a perfect product to decorate your garden.
Terracotta initially appears as a soft, gray material that allows the potter to easily work the clay.
The clay is manually inserted into the plaster molds and takes the desired shape.
The clay must remain inside the mold for the time necessary to dry.
Therefore, the potter can make the necessary finishing touches to enhance its beauty.
Subsequently, before firing, the product must dry completely to avoid unpleasant breakage.
The temperature is gradually raised until it reaches 1000 °C: the temperature at which the actual firing takes place.
It is important to explain that this process requires 3 days:
- 1 day to raise the temperature to 1000 degrees
- 2 days to lower it and finally remove the finished product from the oven.
Once finished, the product is solid and pinkish in color.
Over thirty years of experience in the sector to guarantee the best choice of material and the best handcrafting.
However, due to the handcrafted nature, the products may undergo some variations in size, weight and color.
