The Travertine finish ceramic Horse Panel is a handcrafted item made according to the oldest traditions of the craft.
This is a particular finish invented by the Cestenoli company (each product made with this finish is exclusively our production).
To obtain the cold-painted ceramic, we mainly use terracotta objects produced with majolica clay as a base: it is a smoother clay and allows for easier painting of the object. Initially, we give the object a white background.
Subsequently, we hand-color it using water-based tempera paints.
The artist mixes the colors to bring the object to life, reproducing, for example, the flesh-toned color.
To conclude, we apply a protective layer to best preserve the previously applied colors and apply a coat of wax where needed for the aging effect.
Therefore, the object will have vivid and slightly shiny colors, just like in a painting.
