Description

Madonna della strada del Ferruzzi with worked glazed ceramic base

The Madonna of the Ferruzzi road with a worked glazed ceramic base is a handcrafted product, manually produced according to the oldest traditions of the craft. To obtain the glazed product, depending on the effect we want to give to the object, we use white refractory clay which gives the product a bright and homogeneous color.

We use majolica clay in articles where we need to highlight, in the most prominent points of the object, the dark of the underlying terracotta. This better defines the lines (for example, of a face).

This clay is used with white glaze.

After that, we mold and hand-touch up the terracotta base, which is then placed in the oven for the first firing at 1000 degrees.

After the first firing, the glaze is applied with a special spray gun; it will appear as a powder and a different color from what we will have at the end of the process.

After the glaze has dried, it will be fired a second time, melting at 900 degrees and permanently bonding to the base piece. Once out of the oven, the glaze will have taken on the desired color and the object will have a shiny effect.

Our ceramics are very different from standard ones: we have our own production models and truly unique pieces.

Our ceramics will embellish your living rooms and walls with unique pieces of Tuscan art!
